Bridgeman

This was the animated .gif on the welcome page of my first website. I had almost forgot about it. Still love it, I might have to dig out the original footage.

Nick Cave

Nick Cave, signing "The Death of Bunny Munro" at Barnes & Noble, Union Square.
I got to shake his hand and was totally speechless, like a little kid. One of my legends.

Nick signing my book.
Thanks for the photo T.

Hangman with Myself

Tonight on the subway home, I noticed the man next to me doodling on his newspaper. Upon closer inspection he was playing Hangman with himself. But not just single words, but series of words. The first a sentence, the only part I could read clearly: The newscaster Walter Cronkite has died.... The second game; Kirk, Spock, Bones, Uhura, Sulu... and more. There was a third but I couldn't make it out. At least he was able to figure out the puzzles, I think it'd be worse he couldn't figure out what the other half was thinking, to lose would be to hang himself. A dark game of scary context.

What's a little rain?

Beckley

Fed up with all the rain this week, we refused to let it stop us from enjoying a tasty beer outside.

Yankees vs Cleveland May 6, 2008

Yankees
Yankees Vs Cleavland May 6

A beautiful night for baseball, and a great game, until Joba decided to get all human and give up a 3 run homer. That's baseball, it sucked to watch, but if the good guys always won, well we probably wouldn't watch would we. Still it really sucked to watch, no I mean really sucked.

Then Greg got hit in the head by a flying cane, yeah a cane. A little girl with a Mariano like arm threw it from about 10 rows back. Good thing he was numb from the homer, and the beers probably helped too.

After the Show

Thanks to everyone that came out to the show last night. It was great fun. Hopefully I'll have some video from the show soon.

I took this shot somewhere along the way to getting some food after the show. The white balance is a bit off but I think it works here. And it's a little fuzzy, but so was I.

Now that's what I like to see beneath the tree

or by the tree. The gift being bigger than the tree is always good.

And on second look, a keg, a gas can, and a fire extinguisher, looks like some good times, that Santa cat is alright.

Last Day of the Staycay

I've been on vacation or staycation for the past week but alas today is the final day. Since the roommate moved out last week, I spent most of the time reorganizing. It's great to have a place to myself again, and probably more organized than I've ever been.

So having gotten all the productive stuff out of the way, I was going to play tourist today, and go to the Brooklyn Museum, seeing as it's only about 7 blocks away and all. Of course, I forgot most museums are closed on Monday's, doh. So I decided to take a big long walk around Prospect Park, and take some photos. And here for your viewing pleasure are some of those photos.

Labor Day Weekend Highlights

STORAGE

LABOR DAY - WEST INDIAN CARNIVAL PARADE
It's in the hood, so I walked through, on the way home from the game.

JORGE
I believe that was a single, in the 1st or second. Unfortunately the rest of the game pretty much sucked. We lost 7-1

THE ROCKET
1st inning before it all went downhill. Did I mention this game sucked?
